Montessori friendly books about Seasons

May 6, 2021 - Recommendations - By Carine Robin

In this post, I’m sharing some of my favourite Montessori friendly seasons books.

I like to have some specific seasonal books at the beginning of each season and some general season books all year around.

You may want to check my Spring books recommendations and my Winterbooks recommendations . Summer and Autumn will come soon!

This month (June 2023), the Montessori box is all about Seasons! Have a look.

A year around the Great hoak by Gerda Muller

I love all the books written by Gerda Muller. They are so representative of a child's everyday life! Or at least of an ideal childhood... In this book, you follow 2 children who visit their local forest at each season and you can see how it changes...

A Year in Our New Garden

Anna and Benjamin's family have just moved to a new house and can't wait to turn their messy grass into a beautiful garden, but first they must plan, plant and learn how to care for it.

With the help of their neighbour Louis, the children grow beautiful flowers and tasty vegetables and discover the amazing wildlife living in their new garden.

As the seasons change, Anna and Benjamin learn about all the wonderful things you can do in a garden: planting, harvesting, playing, enjoying picnics and spotting insects, ... The book also includes real gardening tips.

The Story Orchestra - Four seasons in one day

We love this book in our home! Even my 13 years old likes to check it out and likes to listen to the music extract. A great introduction to the 4 seasons by Vivaldi.

Sunshine makes the seasons

Another interesting factual book. I have many in this collection. This clear and appealing science book for early elementary age kids, both at home and in the classroom, features fascinating sidebars and diagrams and clear text. It also includes a find out more section with a simple experiment that allows kids to make their own orbiting model with an orange and a pencil.
